Yes, All records of conversations are encrypted end to end, and stored on a secure HIPAA complaint system. All payments are processed through Stripe, which is a highly secure state of the art financial system.
All Emote therapists are licensed by the state in which they provide therapy. Each therapist is screened before entering the Emote platform to make sure they are in good standing, and carefully onboarded onto our platform. There are many different licenses that allow qualified individuals to practice various forms of mental health therapies.
License requirements vary from state to state, and often require a combination of educational, and post-educational residency requirements. In addition most states require that a post-educational residency include weekly supervision with qualified licensed professionals. Many states also require taking and passing an examination.

There are a variety of options for therapy. All of our therapists are licensed in their state. You can purchase a text-only subscription, and/or add video sessions for an additional fee. Pricing is as follows:
Emote Therapists do not take insurance directly, but generally online therapy is a covered expense by most insurance plans. Most insurance does not typically cover the entire cost of therapy though. In general, we find that when you factor in co-pays, time, and cost of travel to see a therapist in office, our prices are comparable to office-based therapy.
